Operation was running woven wire screens with a shorter wear life and severe blinding problems.

PROBLEM

Severe blinding causing this plant to stop production every few hours to clean the screen decks.  Also, the square mesh woven screens required 2 to 3 complete changes per week.

  • Blinding caused production to average only 20 tons per hour.
  • Short wear life of woven wire screens.

SOLUTION

Switched to FLEX-MAT Type D with 3/8″ (9.5 mm) opening.

  • Solved blinding by eliminating the root cause of the problem, the woven screen.
  • Increased productivity.
  • Screen life increased.

BENEFITS

  • FLEX-MAT increased wear life from 4 months to 6 months.
  • Increase of sand production from 1600 tons to 2000 tons per day.

DECREASED THEIR COST PER TON AND INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY BY OVER 25% THROUGHOUT THE PLANT.
